After witnessing a strong participation at the New Delhi event, UBM India is gearing up for the SATTE event at Mumbai in August. The New Delhi event was hosted at Pragati Maidan from 29-31 January and attracted more than 650 exhibitors. The exhibitors included a wide array of travel brands from international & domestic tourism boards to airlines & hotels. The number of business visitors jumped by over 40 percent as compared to the previous year.
The western region of our country contributes to more than half of the outbound tourism so Mumbai is very crucial from tourism perspective. SATTE Mumbai West will be hosted on August 18 & 19, 2015 at World Trade Centre, Mumbai. The event is expected to have more than 100 travel trade exhibitors and play host to over 2000 visitors.
SATTE team is actively promoting the event via its Social Media Channels on Facebook & Twitter. The last edition had some interesting digital initiatives including a selfie contest where visitors where encouraged to share their selfie in-order to win an iPad. Mobile devices play an important role in facilitating conversations at such events as we experienced recently at the Echelon Summit (Read: This is what we loved the most at Echelon Asia 2015). We really hope organisers of events like SATTE take a hint and try to utilise the full potential of mobile devices.
According to the WTTC reports, India will be among the fastest growing Travel & Tourism economies. SATTE is supported by major travel trade associations and this event will be a great opportunity for industry professionals to network with prominent personalities associated with all dimensions of the industry. It would also be an opportunity for destinations & brands to showcase their services and products to the western travel trade community. There will also be conferences and discussions on the latest trends in the industry to help the brands and marketers in planning the way ahead.
